Queensland Rail Magical Mystery Tour

Another Saturday train ride and another QR mystery journey. Once again Saturday morning train users find the expected ordinary journey is not what is expected. On reaching Moorooka, not a normal stop, passenger for South Brisbane/Southbank were asked to detrain. Fortunately we were heading for Brunswick St and the RNA Show Grounds. and were able to stay on the train. We then diverted West through Sherwood and Toowong, a totally new piece of track to us, and eventually to Roma St; quite an interesting journey. Our eventual destination, the Caravan and Camping Exhibition, was quite interesting and we were able to acquire our Etoll device for the Gateway Bridge and the latest RACQ accommodation guide.

It was exactly a year ago taking the train to the same exhibition that we the train was suddenly stopped at Salisbury with a power failure that started another mystery tour. After a long wait we were able to share a taxi with an exhibitor to make it to the exhibition, quite an adventure. Eventually QR reimbursed us for the taxi fare as well! What will happen on our next visit by train to the RNA on a Saturday?
