Your Company Online Infrastructure for $10/Year
17 February 2007
On recent podcasts and blogs there have been comments on how to exploit Google’s Apps for Your Domain to run a small company. I paid my USD 10 for the micree.com domain. This gives me a templated web site using Google pages at www.micree.com, and a series of company-customised productivity apps such as company email and user management, calendar, documents and spreadsheets, notes, groups and all the other Google apps at a common starting point, start.micree.com. An email address of firstname.lastname@example.org is preferable to email@example.com.
This idea is catching on rapidly and a Lifehack entry points us to Reto Meier’s blog. From Western Australia, Reto is on a mission to use Google for his Intervention Engineering company. He has now amassed a wealth of experience that he reports on his Google group called the Google Powered Office. This is a group that will be well worth following in coming months.
