LEDs that Glow in the Dark

My thoughts resonated with a Slashdot article entitled ‘A Bill of Rights to Restrict LEDs on Gadgets‘. I did a quick count of my study in the dark to reveal a total of 42 LEDs glinting away, the answer to everything. The room houses a couple of desktops, a laptop and home server with the usual peripherals. Of course, the cable modem and router are the main culprits, but I didn’t count the LEDs out of sight like the back of the machine boxes. Nevertheless it seems to me a low number considering the star-like scatter of lights in the dark. What is your count?
